ArtHeart has been serving the Regent Park Community for over 34 years!

And we’ve stayed true to our core values: Arts and Health, Diversity, Inclusivity, Safety, Collaboration and Community-building.

The support of our donors continue to make our mission possible to: Build self-esteem and self-reliance for children, youth, adults and families in the Regent Park community by providing free visual arts education, programs, materials and nourishment in an open, safe, warm, supportive environment.

All of ArtHearts programs are made possible through the generosity of our supporters.

In 2024, we had 5200 program participation visits, and we intend to make those numbers grow!

With your generosity ArtHeart will:

  • Provide free art activities to underserved children, youth, adults, seniors / Indigenous elders and families (many of whom are newcomers) in Regent Park. Objectives are to meet people where they are at—bringing art directly into TCHC buildings and community venues to remove access barriers, foster creative expression and strengthen community connection. Impacts include: stronger community ties, increased well-being, education and recreation.

  • Maintain our commitment to the most vulnerable members of our community with Mobile Arts Programs, in partnership with Toronto Community Housing, local community organizations, Daniels Spectrum, and Wigwamen Terrace

  • Enhance and expand ArtHeart’s programs in response to the changing demographics of our participants i.e. an increased seniors’ population, including Indigenous elders, newcomers, an increased need for health and wellness supports, an increased focus on youth employment for teen girls, BIPOC, and LGBTQ2+ communities

  • Provide constructive activities that promote community engagement and positive social interactions

  • Provide first job experience and training for young teens from TCHC buildings in our Youth Employment Program which is integrated with our Children, Youth and Family Mobile Arts Program

  • Provide nutritious snacks for program participants

  • Create opportunities for children, youth, and their families, adults and seniors to make art together in safe, supportive, educational art workshops in which they can make art with friends and neighbours and find community

  • Create safe and accessible  spaces where everyone feels valued and inspired; ArtHeart’s programs emphasize social cohesion and inclusion and community building, encouraging participants to share their stories and experiences through art

  • Provide ongoing support that promotes health and well-being, fosters community, and actively reduces social isolation
